Before you proceed, you should ALWAYS verify your software version installed in your Denon DJ product to avoid unnecessary download. Your product may already be up to date and no action is required.

So how do you check the software version?
Follow these simple steps:

* Step 1:Turn the power On. In Cue or Pause mode, hold down the button labeled “-preset” for 2 seconds. The display should then indicate that you are in the preset mode.

* Step 2: Then, turn the Parameter knob counterclockwise (backwards) until the display shows "Version No". Push down on the Parameter Knob to view the version number.

If your system version number does not match the Latest Plug In’s version listed above, please proceed with the download unless special instructions are specified under Latest Plug In’s.

Thanks. A quick check shows that ASCII character garbage still shows up on the remote player in D-Sync mode when the filename starts to scroll :(

Problem with disappearing files, that are along with folders in the same directory, when BACK button is pressed in folder browsing mode WASN'T SOLVED!

Steps to get this bug:

1. You are browsing by folders
2. You have folders structure, that contains another folders, but folders are along with files in the same parent directory:

Take a look on this images: http://pokazywarka.pl/dn-hs5500_back_button_bug/

3. You are going out (by BACK BUTTON) from some subfolder, into folder, that contains subfolders along with files
4. You see only subfolders - files are disappeared.

I already told you BEFORE these posts that firmware v1400 was closed to any other improvements.

Nice work Silvio. All I was waiting for. Gonna get me a pair of these bad boys now. All reported problems sorted. Yeah im sure another update in near future will enhance even further but for now its gonna rock. Iv had pioneer decks and mixers and i thought the grass would be greener. Cant wait to get creative in the mix once again. Fun times.

So you are saying, that Denon will not solve this bug with disappearing files (that are along with the folders in the same directory) during folder browsing and hitting BACK button?

I have paid 3000$ two years ago for pair DN-HS5500 (in Poland we have higher prices for Denon DJ gear) and after this two years finally bugs are fixed, except one, and you are telling me, that this will stay just like so, with the bug?

Although I did expect the issue DavidWarsaw has mentioned to be solved, seems simple, the main thing for me is that the cue slip has been solved.

Thank you very much DENON, a while back I thought v1300 was the last update but you've came through with another!

Merry Xmas everyone!

I have picked another bug on this new 1400 firmware. Let's call this bug "Sound comes out during spin-back on slave unit, even when scratch lever is FWD."

Steps to get this bug:

1. Connect two DN-HS5500 with D-Link mode
2. On slave player play some audio file
3. Switch scratch direction lever on "FWD." (forward) position on slave player
3. On slave player use FAST SEARCH buttons to go to playing position, that is far away from the beginning of the track
4. Make very long spin-back on slave player (very long means, that you should rotate scratch disc more than once)
5. Despite, that scratch direction lever will be on FWD. position, you will get sound from this slave player...

For me it's few hours to pick bugs, but Denon can't?

UPDATE:

Make the same procedure on master player and you also will get back-spin sound despite scratch lever on FWD.

UPDATE 2:

It is happening even when D-Link is disabled...

@Dawid: Please; stop bitching or go away and select another player to bitch about. Do you ever once think that the rest of us dislike reading your posts more than your dissatisfaction with Denon? In the future, maybe you could just send them a good old fashioned letter.

Merry Christmas Denon, thanks for your hard work. :D

@Digital Media Jockey:

I'm not "bitching", I just picked this bug (scratch lever on FWD., but sound still comes out during spinning back) when I was playing few minutes ago...

I like to use scratch lever (it saves crossfader on the mixer), but there is problem with it...

I also found, that even with D-Link disabled, scratch lever doesn't work during spinning back the scratch disc (it's impossible to cutting the sound by scratch lever during spin-back).

Why in the world would you use the Fwd or Both lever on the player to scratch with instead of the crossfader on your mixer which is what it was designed for. Now obviously the Fwd or Both lever can do a very basic idea of what a crossfader can but it wasn't designed for this. Your lucky it works at all if your using it instead of your crossfader to cut with. All I can say about this update is that it fixed 2 big issues with me, (1) the Un-Dyscing of the remote unit from the master while playing which would cause both units to freeze & have to be re-booted and the (2nd), the drifting while scratching. Both issues I've had have been fixed & I'm so so happy.

Sorry to say, but I just experienced CUE SLIP on the new firmware. It's not a joke... I will try to video it... It happened in D-Link (I mean D-Sync) mode after 40 minutes of not making any action on players, but they were turned ON. One thing was strange: displays was constantly highlighted (normally, by default display highlight is turned OFF after few minutes when no action is performed on the player), despite not touching players from 40 minutes. Then when I started to scratch, CUE SLIP appeared. I decided to video it, but when I pressed pause, and I came back with camera, CUE SLIP disappeared... But I think it will comeback.

It reminds me CUE SLIP on 1300 firmware - CUE SLIP wasn't always to see - it seemed to appear after some time of using the deck...

Edit:
It happened once again and I have recorded this. I will upload this on YouTube.

Please. Can anyone post the directions for installing the update plug-in to the decks. I've downloaded the update 4 times and each time all files open up except the PDF file with the instructions on how to install the update. It keeps saying theres an error in that file. All other PDF's that came with the update open perfectly. I dont remember what i did to install ver 1300. If someone could please do this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I LOVE YOU DENON!

My cue button now works flawlessly as intended and i can now drum with confidence, this was very important for my style and expression. You should really bring the 55 back form the dead.... Tis an awesome product now (if only serato or tractor would realize this).

@ DawidWarsaw

Mate your a f**knuckle. When would you ever leave your gear running but not using for over 40 mins in a live situation and theres nothing wrong with my back/forward switch you flaming muppet, why not just get another hd and use both decks without dsync?
