Postby probablecauz on Sat Jul 17, 2010 3:56 am

i just purchased my x1600 and love it. i have a coffin that i use to hold my mixer. i see there is a 19" rackmount but i dont see one specifically for the x1600. i see the RMDJ-1500 and the RMDJ-1700. which is the correct one. thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure (unless Silvio says I'm wrong) the RMDJ-1700 is the one you want.

look at this from agiprodj:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zQqlEtJ_i4

and this is what I use for my DN-X1700

index.php?f=15&t=7&rb_v=viewtopic&start=1098

I bought it from Agiprodj

I think the rackmount kit for 1700 is the same for 1600

Hang on guys, they are the same size mixer, but the screw holes for the RM-DJ1700 does not line up with the X1600.

I'm curious if this issue has been resolved? I'm looking into the x1600 mixer and went in to my local music store today. They called two distributors and couldn't find an answer. I would love to own the x1600 and need to make an immediate purchase - can anyone say for sure if there's a rackmount kit that fits the 1600?

Just got done speaking with Ty from AGI, he said the video will be coming down shortly for all the trouble its caused. The 1600 doesn't have a 19" rackmount as of right now. They modified a 1700 mount for the video but if the case were ever tipped to far the mixer would fall out.

When will Denon put out a 19" rackmount kit for the 1600? Are they planning on it? Very frustrating.

Im currently using a custom (self) made assembly for holding my DN-X1700 in a 19'' rack. Just 3 lengths of metal from left to right, each formed into a squared U-shape to go under the mixer, like this

3 x '''''''''!...........!''''''''

with rackmount holes in the ends.

I understand from the Denon DJ (UK) that they are soon to be bringing out a combined 1600 and 1700 rackmount kit, which will fully encompass either mixer (sides, underneath, lower front etc) and will feature both the screwholes/mounting holes for the 1600 and 1700 mixers, all in the same kit.
It's a sure sign that Vinyl is on the way out when fewer and fewer people are able to spell "vinyl" anymore.

If you are willing to drill some extra holes into the RMDJ1700 panel, (as seen in the video) it may work just fine.
Of course at your own risk.

Right but if your case was tipped upside down the mixer would fall out from the information Ty gave me. He mentioned that the 1700 in the proper rack mount kit wouldn't fall out even if your case managed to get tipped over. Is that correct?

I believe the rack in that video was modified just so it would hold the mixer (not mounted/screwed).

If you drill out the corresponding holes in the x1700 rack kit so it matches the X1600 mixer mounting holes, and then the rack adapter is screwed to the mixer and to the rack rails, the mixer shouldn't fall out.

But as Gary already mentioned....

Has anyone done this with any success? Can someone speak to this with certainty?

I will let you know for sure. Just placed my order for the 1600 mixer and the 1700 rackmount kit this morning. Will work nicely with the 3700s. Lets hope I can get the kit drilled correctly!
