Cannot change password

Postby brichi on Tue Feb 09, 2010 11:26 pm

I have tried a couple of times but I cannot change my password. I reset it and got a generic PW from the forum email, activated it, logged in with no problem but when I change the password to one I want and hit submit, it says it is updated but I still have to use the generic password to log back in, it is not taking my changed one.

Any ideas?

I had the same issue with my Apple, but not my real PC. I've put it down to browser type, but it might be deeper.

The important thing is, as you've proved today, you're getting onto the forum and posting when ya wanna.
It's a sure sign that Vinyl is on the way out when fewer and fewer people are able to spell "vinyl" anymore.

cool, Thx Gary, I'll boot up my Netbook and see what happens....

I've been on with no issues because I am just using the "supplied" password from the forum

Are you logging in from...

http://www.denondjforums.com

http://www.denondjforums.com/forum

?

If you can't change it, it's probably because the actual forum is "inside" a forum window/door (I don't know how else to describe it).

(and just in case we were going to ask us... we can't access that password info section to change it for you)

Ok.... go to the main forum page denondjforums.com...... look to the left side and you'll see a link for "Latest Posts".

Click on one of the posts shown and it will take you to the "inside" of the forum window/door.

Once "inside", the forum should look normal and the Twitter bird should disappear.

Then go to the "Board Index" page.... click on "View new posts", and then save a bookmark to that page.

Once done, it will then automatically take you to the "inside" forum section the next time you visit, and the forum page layout should be displayed normally (ie, no need to scroll sideways anymore... no missing parts on the sides).

I don't know if you'll be able to change your password from there though, because of the way the forum was set back up after the crash.

ok, yeah that is the same "index" page i was using for a while so that's where I have been trying to change the password. So I guess right now there is no way to change it being that the first forum doesnt show a user panel.

Like you mentioned, I cannot change the password on the forum bookmarked above because of the crash

This is a know issue with the forum. Along with you and a few other members I too can’t change my password. I’m using a password that the system sent me.
I even contacted the webmaster a couple of times about it but he does not reply. I guess he knows about the issue but can’t resolve it somehow.
